Private Directors Meeting in Newlands

Meeting @ seven with Hussein

Hussein, one of our directors was unable to attend  the directors meeting, so we instead decided meet with him at Forrester's Arms Pub & Restaurant at seven. The meeting was very insightful and got the team thinking about product development strategy.



Key suggestions from Hussein:

PRODUCT & PROTOTYPE

·      Need to obtain different kinds test tissue paper sheets ourselves first, before deciding on paper to which use
·      Aim for low costs like R8 per unit, then add features like paddings
·      Mark up the product by 100%

·      Aim to keep product as simple as possible
·      Shape product like blanket
·      Research on weather toilet seats have a universal size – Develop product accordingly
·      TEST PHASE - Produce a quantity of 20 and test product on friends and family, before producing high volumes.


·      Shouldn’t rush the product development process especially with a tight budget of R11 000 – Strategic with capital
·      Strive to have an actual prototype at board meeting on the 28th
·      On the board meeting on Thursday focus on the issues and struggles of prototype development process



BRANDING

·      Understand consumer attitudes towards restroom products – sensitive topic
·      Develop a brand that breaks sensitivity
·      Look at similar industries like pads, condoms (Choice condom, Durex & Koltex)
