So...
We have a prototype but also not really. We were given a sample of 2-ply tissue paper from a toilet paper manufacturer last week, that is about 60cm X 60cm. Sinceit was left in Musa's car since we got it, it was up to him to take the initiative and try create something. And that's what he did. He cut the paper into the shape we we want our product to look like and he even included a flap. A valiant effort, I must say!
When we showed it to Stuart in our meeting all he could do was chuckle. And we chuckled with him. It was one of those situations where you don't really know the reason why someone is laughing so you join in hoping it"s for the reason you hope. He appreciated the effort and understood why were unable to make a legit prototype. We left the meeting feeling better than when we entered it.
We were discussing labour for our manufacturing and Stu recommended we visit Valkenburg Hospital, which houses the mentally ill. So after the meeting we took a trip. We were all a little nervous going in, all having different expectations - some more imaginative than others! In the common room the patients were watching a pirated version of Batman v Superman and were deeply immersed in the action. We met with therapist who organises the work based activities and attempted to negotiate a price. She was hesitant to say a price and wanted us to start, I think it was because she was hoping that we would give an audacious offer that was way above her norm. And we we didn't want to make an offer for that exact reason. We eventually parted ways but we knew we wouldn't use the patients.
Our class also decided to have a dodgeball tournament to reconnect as we were drifting and just sticking to our genesis groups as our social circles. So the teams were mixed and we weren't in our groups, it turned out to be loads of fun and a good way to end a highly eventful day.
